The Ford government’s cuts to legal aid will have a disproportionate impact on low income Ontarians, including tenants, low-wage workers, women fleeing violence, refugees, migrants, people struggling with mental illness, those on social assistance, workers hurt on the job, and parents with custody or support issues.
On June 12, 2019 PCLS received news that the clinic’s budget will be cut by 45% over the next two years. A cut this deep means up to half of the clinic’s front-line workers could be laid off.
