Notice of Annual General Meeting 2016

We value your participation in our organization, so we hope you will attend our AGM along with our Board of Directors and staff. This year we celebrate our 45th anniversary, and we are excited to share with our members our history and what we hope for the future of the community.

We will also present the annual Dorothy Leatch Memorial Award to a community member for exceptional contribution to the community and social justice and recognize the important convening work of our community partner, Parkdale Organize.  The theme of this AGM is Getting Organized, and will feature a panel presentation of neighbourhood people talking about their roles in community organizing.

The business portion of the meeting will be present the Annual Report and the Audited Financial Statements of 2015-2016 to the membership, as well as a special resolution to amend the PCLS Bylaws (described below) and the election of Directors to the Board.

Proposed By-Law Amendments

The Board of PCLS has adopted amendments to the Byalws concerning how Directors are elected to the Board (and consequent amendments). These changes were made to address concerns about the election process raised at the last AGM.

Election of Directors

A member who is in good standing five days in advance of the meeting is eligible to vote in the meeting and elect Directors.

If you are not yet a member and believe you are eligible, please download, complete and send us a membership application form.

To nominate someone for the election of Directors, any two members in good standing may nominate another member in good standing for election as a Director, by submitting a nomination in writing to the PCLS office.

Along with the nomination, the two members must also have the written consent of the nominated member confirming they will stand as a nominee to the Board.  All nomination materials must be received no later than two business days prior to the date set for the AGM, or Monday, June 20, 2016, at 5:00 p.m.  If you have any questions about the nomination process, please contact the Membership Committee through the clinic email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
